Cookie

What are cookie?

As regards websites, a cookie is a small set of data sent from the web server to a user’s internet browser and stored on the user's device (computer, tablet, smartphone or other) which that server can later read or retrieve. They allow the website to store some information within a session or at subsequent times the user accesses it.
Do the Autonomous Region of Sardinia websites make use of cookies?
Yes. They do, for improvement of the websites themselves and to provide services and features to users. Cookies may be limited or deactivated altogether via the user’s internet browser. However, this may lead to the inaccessibility of some website features.

Why we use Cookie

Cookies have several uses. They are essential for correct navigation in some parts of a website. In other parts they collect information that will then be used to provide special services; moreover, some external services (third parties) may need to install their own cookies on the user’s browser to provide their services.
What kinds of cookies are used on our website?

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information company service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide this service" (see Article 122, paragraph 1, of the Privacy Code).
They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed by the website owner or operator. They can be divided as follows:

Navigation or session cookies

They are used to record data for normal navigation and website use on a user’s computer (e.g. in order to remember the user’s preferred page size in a list). These cookies can also be distinguished depending of their persistence on the user’s computer: session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of each navigation session; persistent cookies have a longer life.

Functional cookies

These cookies are used by websites to remember the choices made by users in order to optimise functionality. For example, websites use functional cookies to remember a user's specific settings, such as country selection and, if set, permanent access status.

Third party cookies

Some features are produced by using third-party services, listed below. These services produce cookies in connection to services provided by third parties.
A third party provides these services in exchange for information about the user's visit to our website. It follows that third-party suppliers of cookies have the obligation to respect the relevant legislation. For this reason, please refer to the links of third-party websites, where users can find cookie consent collection forms and related disclosures. If the services are provided by indirect contact with third parties, users should consult the websites of the intermediaries between us and the third parties.

Google Analytics

To optimise information and services offered, the websites of the regional network use Google Analytics, the Google service that tracks and analyses the online behaviour of users with regard to time, geographical location and website behaviour.

Open Street Map

How do you deactivate or remove cookies?

The majority of browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can set your browser to not accept them, automatically or upon request. We advise against such deactivation, as normal navigation may be negatively affected and some or all of the features on some websites may become unavailable. If you don’t want your computer to receive and store cookies, just change your browser security settings.
